Use of the Whole Self: body, voice, expression, movement, emotion

As we move onto the stage, remember, there is a reason that some company or organization has paid to have a flesh and blood person brought into the room.  They pay for planes, trains, and Ubers.  They feed us, put us up in hotels. The reason they have paid to have a person right there in the room, is to get something they cannot get any other way, it is ineffable, the experience of being in the presence of another human being with our own particular breath, sweat, nerves, laughter, humor, stories, expression, voice, essence. Anything our audience can get from the web, from a document, a slide deck, a blog post, an academic paper, should be emailed.  Do not squander the moments we have in each other’s presence.
